Baptisms at All Saints Streetly
Baptisms and Christenings
Ever since the time of Jesus, the church has baptised new believers to mark the start of their journey in faith.
You don’t need to pass a test to be baptised. You don’t need to be a good person. You just need to want to live a life with God.
For children
Whether you are exploring the possibility of a baptism (christening) for your child or whether you’ve already decided, the Church of England is delighted to help. At All Saints ‘we offer baptism services for children whose family worship in the church, for children who live in our parish and those who have a connection. If you live outside the parish we will ask you to take a request form to your local parish as a courtesy. If you’re not sure whether you live in our parish or not, check by going to the A Church Near You website.
Our Baptism Team will invite you on a Saturday Morning to a preparation session, we’ll talk about baptism, the service and about the promises that you’ll make. We make promises too – to help you and your child grow in faith as they join in the life of the church community.
Find out more at the Church of England’s Christenings website.
For adults
Adults are baptised at All Saints’, sometimes on their own, with their children or godchildren. We’ll be really glad to help you prepare and to support you in this important step of trust and commitment.
There are no fees for Baptisms.
Need a copy of a baptism certificate? or Looking for a long-lost ancestor?
All Church of England churches hold baptism registers that are wonderful sources of information. We often receive enquiries from people requiring a baptism certificate or researching their family tree. Please get in touch with Debbie Aggett, the Parish Administrator at allsaintstreetly@btinternet.com or 0121 353 3582 (Monday- Friday 9.30-2.30pm) and we’ll do our best to help you,
